MISS GRANT BRINGS PET THERAPY TO PITTI BIMBO A limited-edition hoodie to support the Percorsi nel Centro di Pet Therapy scheme for patients in children’s wards Florence, January 2016. The luxury childrenswear brand Miss Grant has been involved with childhood and the magic world of children for more than 40 years. For this year’s Pitti Immagine Bimbo the brand presents, in association with Antropozoa, a project in aid of children and their relationship with animals. Paola Montaguti, Miss Grant’s stylist for more than 20 years and a mother herself,is well aware of the importance of interaction between pets and children, the ideal way of ensuring healthy development. In fact her dog, Lulù, gave its name to the brand’s eponymous range. A relationship with a furry companion and, even more important, taking dayto-day care of it, is beneficial to a child’s emotional and psychological development,a fact confirmed by numerous studies. This virtuous bond created between children and pets has no barriers, a direct relationship through which children spontaneously and boundlessly express their feelings and emotions. Therefore, Miss Grant decided to create a limited edition of one of its It pieces. Proceeds from sales will be donated to Antropozoa, a national non-profit association which has for over 17 years promoted pet therapy for children in schools and hospitals, children’s neuropsychiatry services and various children’s wards. The hoodie features Romeo the teddy bear who wears a white coat as he takes care of the toys that are children’s playmates. Proceeds from the sales of the hoodie will sustain the Percorsi nel Centro di Pet Therapy (treatments in pet therapy centres) project, thanks to which children who are disabled or suffering from crippling diseases can spend days on the Antropozoa centre’s farm in Castelfranco Sopra (province of Arezzo) in close contact with the animals. A unique opportunity for children to enjoy the benefits of interacting with animals, an experience that will long stay in their memories. The special hoodie will be shown for the first time on Thursday 21 January at Miss Grant’s stand in Fortezza da Basso at an event attended by the brand stylist and the managing director, Mauro Serafini, accompanied by little girls wearing the Grant AW 2016-2017 collection and, naturally, by Romeo the teddy bear. That’s not all: for Antropozoa – and for the joy of smaller children – there will be a very special “endorser”, the little Polpetta, a cross between a Coton de Tulearand a poodle, long involved in pet therapy, accompanied by Dr Francesca Mugnai, Antropozoa’s chair and a leading pet therapy expert.
